The October 2015 United Kingdom’s National Risk Assessment, issued by HM Treasury and Home Office, says that countering terrorist finance is important in protecting national security. The document mentions sanctions several times. One example is that the UK continues to actively raise the risks presented by the delay with the European Commission, and is also currently considering legislative options to address the delay between UN terrorism sanctions being imposed and their implementation by the EU.
