An order of a court directing a law enforcement officer to seize and detain a particular person to answer to a complaint or otherwise appear in court. There are examples of persons that have been arrested for sanctions violations. A recent example is a Turkish national who was arrested in the US in March 2016 for conspiring to evade US sanctions against Iran, money laundering and bank fraud. The Turkish national was allegedly engaged in hundreds of millions of dollars-worth of transactions on behalf of the government of Iran and other Iranian entities, which were barred by US sanctions.
